See You Soon
I saw you at
the campus,
Your class was next to mine.
Through the window I caught a stare,
Lord it felt so fine.
Would you like to meet me tomorrow noon?
Get to know you better, see you soon.
I'm so glad that I found you,
Working here at the store.
I thought you were gone forever,
I couldn't see you anymore.
Would you like to meet me tomorrow noon?
Well, I'd like to know you better, see you soon.
Dreaming of your smile,
Looking so right.
Come and talk awhile,
Stay for the night.
Dreaming of your smile,
Looking so right.
Come and stay for awhile,
Talk for the night?
If we get together,
For lunch or some other time.
I know we will do oh quite so well,
We'll get along just fine.
Would you like to meet me tomorrow noon?
Well, I'd like to know you better, see you soon.

NOTES -
This is about a girl that worked in Sedro-Woolley and lived in Burlington. I was taking a 10 week flying class up at Skagit Valley College and noticed her in a class next door - I got hit by the thunderbolt (Mario Puzo term) and was a real mess there for awhile. Remember Apollonia? I couldn't even talk around this girl and never did ask her out. No pain, no gain, and no whistling Dixie.
This is a Steve Acero riff - I suppose I should have asked him before I used it but what the hell. This song is a little noisy, but aren't they all.
This starts out with the reverb all the way up for the whole stereo image through my pride and joy at the time - a Tapco Stereo Spring Reverb unit - then slowly bringing the mix to the forefront by backing off the reverb. Well, it sounded cool in 1978.
After completing that pre-flight class up at SVC, I went down to Arlington Airport to take my first flying lesson. While I was waiting some guy drilled his twin engine plane into the tarmac at the airport. Big fireball. Like a scene from the movie "Final Destination" and the end of my flying aspirations.
